Validation Workshop for the Global Environment Facility Project development to promote energy efficiency in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector

We are in the home stretch of the Global Environment Facility Project development to promote energy efficiency in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector. A Validation Workshop was held to inform all stakeholders of the content of the project based on input from numerous stakeholders interactions over the last two years. We will continue to update as the approval process continues.

The Global Environment Facility Project development to promote energy efficiency in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector continues. Stakeholder consultations on energy efficiency as well as gender analysis workshops were held as the project nears its final stages of development.

The Thirtieth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

The Thirtieth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (MOP 30) took place from 5-9 November 2018 in Quito, Ecuador.

MOP 30 addressed issues related to the January 2019 entry into force of the Kigali Amendment on the global warming gas hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), data reporting issues for ozone depleting substances,  approved destruction technologies to be used for HFCs; and linkages between phasing down of HFCs and energy efficiency.

Trinidad and Tobago was represented by Dr. Marissa Gowrie Deputy Environmental Manager/National Ozone Officer and Mrs. Krysten Gonzales Monitoring and Evaluation Officer attached to the National Ozone Unit.

Provision of Recovery Tanks to the Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Association

 The National Ozone Unit through the HCFC Phase out Management Plan was delighted to assist the Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Association with provision of recovery tanks to facilitate recovery and Recycling of refrigerant in Trinidad and Tobago.
