The National Ozone Unit continued its public education and awareness efforts with an appearance by Dr. Marissa Gowrie Deputy Environmental Manager/National Ozone Officer and Mr. Jonathan Bolai Ozone Specialist on the Morning Edition Programme to share information on ozone layer protection. Information was also shared on activities that are ongoing at a national level to aid the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector.
The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago participated at the Fourth Extraordinary Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol held virtually on 21 May 2021 and Forty Third (43rd) Open Ended Working Group of the Parties (OEWG 43) and related meetings of OEWG 43 also to be held virtually over the period May 22- July 17, 2021. Dr. Marissa Gowrie Deputy Environmental Manager/National Ozone Officer and Mr. Jonathan Bolai Ozone Specialist Environmental Policy and Planning Division Ministry of Planning and Development attended the Meetings. The Meetings focused on the replenishment of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol for the period 2021-2023.
The Green Cooling Summit 2021 is jointly organised by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The Summit will address political and technical approaches for the implementation of the HFC phase-down under the Kigali Amendment.

Follow three teenagers as they race against time and travel through it to find a solution to the GROW – a disease that has spread across the world and cut life-expectancy to less than 30 years. Their journey takes them back in time where they find the cause of the disease, learn about the importance of the ozone layer and the impact of working together towards a common human cause.
