of sustainable cooling, through collaboration on various projects and with
prestigious partners that include twenty-nine National Ozone Units. It functions with the objective to facilitate
sector transformation towards green cooling technologies by leapfrogging from
ozone depleting substances to climate and ozone friendly refrigerant. Within
the Latin American and Caribbean Region, members of the Green Cooling Network
include, Grenada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Bolivia. Over the last ten (10) years this Network has
supported:
· Green Cooling Technology Pilots;
· Technician Training and Certification; and
·
Access to
climate financing schemes.
The Green Cooling
Initiative, part of Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Proklima,
is a project supported and funded by the German Government, in particular the Federal
Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conversation and Nuclear Safety and the
Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. It provides green
cooling network members with information, advice and collaboration
opportunities to enhance engagement with green sustainable cooling. It further allows members to work together on
science, policy, finance and technology to meet growing demands for cooling in
a comprehensive manner, all aimed at raising climate ambition in the context of
the Sustainable Development Goals, while complimenting the goals of the Kigali
