The National Ozone Unit conducted training in Tobago on Natural Refrigerants and Good Refrigeration Practices as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmentally responsible refrigeration and air-conditioning practices. The training provided participants with practical knowledge on the safe handling, use, servicing, and maintenance of equipment using natural refrigerants, while emphasizing proper installation, leak detection, recovery, and system maintenance. Participants were also introduced to good refrigeration practices that can improve energy efficiency, reduce refrigerant emissions, and extend the lifespan of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. The initiative supports Tobago’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact of refrigerants and contributes to national commitments under the Montreal Protocol while strengthening the technical capacity of refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians.
