Assistance to the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Unit to Monitor Gases alternative to Methyl Bromide

The National Ozone Unit was delighted to assist the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Unit in it's capacity to monitor the use of chemicals that are alternatives to Methyl Bromide. This will greatly assist this country in ensuring that all obligations to the Montreal Protocol to ensure compliance in the phase out of this ozone depleting gas used in the fumigation sector. Import of Methyl Bromide for all uses other than quarantine and pre shipment was banned on January 1 2015.
