The National Ozone Unit (NOU) provided training and equipment to the Plant Quarantine Division on alternative Fumigant to Methyl Bromide (an ozone depleting substance) as well as information on best practices in the sector. Also presented was a quick tool on fumigants developed by the NOU to assist officers in decision making by having the necessary information summarized and easily available to them while on duty.

Refrigerant Drivers License Train the Trainer Workshop
The Refrigerant Drivers License Train the Trainer Workshop for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trainers hosted by international Air Conditioning and Refrigeration trainer Gregory Jourdan commenced.
This workshop facilitated by the National Ozone Unit in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Development Programme is part of the implementation of the Montreal Protocol in Trinidad and Tobago, and is particularly aimed at improving the technical capacity of our local trainers in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.
The management of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector plays a major role in reducing ozone depleting substances in Trinidad and Tobago.
