Distribution of Recovery Units

The National Ozone Unit through funds provided by the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol under the Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) Phase out Management Plan was pleased to distribute recovery units to technicians on the island of Tobago. This is in an effort to further improve Good Refrigeration Practices as the sector seeks to protect the fragile Ozone Layer.

Ensuring the Quality of Refrigerant Imports

The TTBS has begun it's analytical testing of all refrigerant being imported into this country. The laboratory gave the National Ozone Unit a demonstration of this process. This is aimed at further ensuring that the quality of refrigerant imported is of an acceptable standard .

Ozone Awareness at the Science and Technology Week at UWI



The National Ozone Unit was very happy to be featured as the Guest Speaker at the University of the West Indies Science and Technology Week. The theme of the event focused on Science ad Communities, and the audience was educated on how refrigeration and the work of the Montreal Protocol affects all citizens of the country and sectors of our economy.

Public Awareness at the National Gas Company Ltd. Expo





The National Ozone Unit recently took part in the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Environmental Expo as part of the booth of the Environmental Policy and Planning Division. Brochures were disseminated on the linkages of ozone depletion and climate change as well as general ozone awareness.
