Public Awareness at the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference

 

·       The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago held the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Port-of-Spain from January 23-25, 2024. The NOU mounted a display at the event to educate on ozone protection, alternative refrigerant and energy efficiency in refrigeration and air conditioning. The booth activities involved engaging with members of the public, showcasing a video and poster display, distributing educational materials such as flyers and brochures, and hosting an interactive game.

Training of Border Control Officers- Trade License Unit

As the January 1, 2024 HFC freeze has begun the National Ozone Unit held a sensitization session with the Trade License Unit to ensure that all officers are up to date on requirements for HFC import and export into the country and the requirements of the Kigali Amendment.

Customs Brokers Awareness

The National Ozone Unit embarked on the sensitization of customs brokers with a session at Transbrokerage Services Limited. Officers were apprised of the quota and licensing system in effect for HFC gases from January 1, 2024 in accordance with the Kigali Amendment and the measures in place regarding applications for refrigerant import and export.
