The National Ozone Unit continued its 2025 border control training with a session with officers of the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Inspectorate. The training incorporated information on the Montreal Protocol as it relates to the fumigation sector and suitable alternatives for Methyl Bromide which is only allowed for quarantine and preshipment purposes. It also incorporated information on the refrigeration and air conditioning sector specifically as it relates to the Kigali Amendment and the phase down of HFCs as well as the use of the alternative refrigerant hydrocarbon.
